jjfizzle51 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 hey all i went down to the dunes this past weekend at little sahara ut, big sand mountain, and i have to admit that the new suzuiki 450 and the raptor 700 had me a little intimidaded just cause of all the hipe there getting, and my bike isnt a highly modded at all read my sig if you want to know what i have, but i am proud to say that i totaly wasted both quads stock and piped it was great and my carbs where even out of sync and i had burn oil in the tranny cant wait till i get her all better and go again. just thought id share Quote
MudSlinger09 Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 lol good to hear ya sent the new dogs back to the pound Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Congratulations New quads always get more hype than what they deserve. Quote
NotsafeFWD Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 to the asswhippings. I, personally, have only raced one 700R. The bike I raced was modded, some sort of tuning "magic box", piped, and no lid/cone filter and was a dyno proven 50 hp to the tires. We raced from a dig, and i pulled him through the first two gears, third he started to catch me, and fourth he pulled maybe a quad or two. However if we went from a roll, which we did later that day, it was terribly close. Maybe it was because his quad was a freak or I'm still relatively unmodded, but it told me that im at the power level I expected(close to 45 whp). Now for the 450, I ain't skeered. From what I hear, they are kinda weak sauce. Well stock at least. We'll see what comes from them. Again though, nice kills. Quote
Too Many Toys Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 There were some 450's at the mountain this weekend that were pretty impressive. For being fourstrokes anyway!! Quote
jjfizzle51 Posted March 8, 2006 Author Report Posted March 8, 2006 yes there was idk if you saw that one guy but he was kind of pudgey on a yfz his ripped and the two dorky guys on the sleeper r's damn i was hella impressed, my reed gasket was blow over the weekend so i could only pull 3rd up the hill i usually can pull 4th or 5th down to 4th but i dont like to downshift on the shee Quote
Shee-Male Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 faster or not, there aint any other quad on the planet that puts a smile on a riders face like a Banshee, they will be respected long after they are discontinued. ....I aint affraid of no 4 stroke Quote
Too Many Toys Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I did see that guy but not the sleepers. The banshee will be around forever. If the 450's are so fast then you would see them at the drags. Quote
jjfizzle51 Posted March 8, 2006 Author Report Posted March 8, 2006 ya there a great bike but not to be the one who ruinns this forever thing but i really bet that within the next 5 years quads will be so advanced that banshees will be like the 250 ex cause seriously last season i was out running all the 4 strokers but this season god damn raptors are fast enough to blow right past me and im not even talking the 700 Quote
WALLACE84 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 faster or not, there aint any other quad on the planet that puts a smile on a riders face like a Banshee, they will be respected long after they are discontinued.....I aint affraid of no 4 stroke 483753[/snapback] Word! Quote
raidersfan81 Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 I will be man enough to admit it. Along with my mildly modified 99 Shee, I own the 700 Raptor. The pro's and cons? Modified Banshee is slightly quicker than the stock Raptor but can not compete with top speed. The Raptor also climbs better. Will get them both out to the dunes in a month or two and see who does better there. I expect the Shee to handle the sand better. Quote
