banshee223 Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 The track is a 100 yards of sand. I want to be able to launch in second gear, what would be the best gearing for me running 21-12-8 9 paddle skat trak extremes?thanks Quote
wesw Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 14-41 and start from there. sand/gearing can be a pain to get dialed in. buy some sprockets. 13-16 frt, 39-44 for the back. best advice. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 wesw is right, you really have to get out there and see what's best for you. I tried 3 different gearing setups and I still don't think I have it exactly where I need it. Trial and error my friend, go ahead an pick up a variety of sprockets, it'll take more than a few passes to figure out which way you need to go Quote
trex banshee Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 The track i run on is dirt so its going to be a little different but i was told a 3:0 gear ratio would be perfect where i race so that could be a good starting point. i believe that would be a 13 up front and a 42 on the back Quote
trex banshee Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 correction it would 14 up front and a 42 on the back 13/42 is 3:2 Quote
banshee223 Posted February 25, 2006 Author Report Posted February 25, 2006 right know I'm 13-41, I will see what this does. I have a 13,14,15,16 front and 41 and I think a 42 for the rear Quote
race-a-holic Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 13/41 will probably work. Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 14/43 works great for me. Good torque and I don't loose the top end. Quote
