hey all, just want an opinion on this. I want to hone my cyls, and get a .100 over top end kit. I know im at my limit and honing could cause some clearance. The local machinist says he can take down to a half a thou off, so i should be fine, what do ya think??

I would start looking for a new set of cylinders. Better safe than sorry. You can pick up stock pistons really cheap right now, since the cubs came out. My friend rick just sold a set of stock jugs ported by speed tech for like $400. You could pick up some basically stock ones for like $250 I would imagine. Check out ebay.

I'm thinking about selling some of my spare sets of cylinders (not the gorr ported ones) if you end up looking for some, let me know I could probably cut you a deal.

Ya 100 over is gone. Look into some cubs or a nice used set of stock cylinders. Hey bigred. I am useing a set of ted boyko (speed tech) cylinders right now. I just measured them last night and they came out to be 190 exhaust and 119 trans. Those numbers seem pretty mild to me but I think they made some good hp. How did your friend like his?

his port was set up for drag racing. It was basically an aggressive dune port. It pulled pretty hard, and he liked it a lot. i don't know what the port numbers were though.

im pretty sure they were the same numbers because when ted set mine up he just took a caliber and measured from the top to how far he wanted it to go and thats it. I guess I have a lot left in my cylinders from what other people say. They say his ports are mild but very good.

well, im a broke at school so im guna keep the ported .100 overs, and put a new wiseco kit in them. These .100 over cyls have been awesome for the past 2 years with no probs, so im guna keep em till they fail. 150 compared to around 400 for ported cylenders w/o pistons says enough for me :shrugani:

I'll sell you mine with pistons for 400. The top end has 2 trips on it. Im selling them because I am going to get a 7mm stroker and these wont work. They are at 65mm bore with wiseco pistons and the outside of the cylinders are fully polished by a professional polisher.
