go all out and buy the biggest thing you can afford.

all I know around here any toyota truck will fetch some mad money.

I dont care if its in 3 pieces, you cant find a toyota truck under 1g.

A newer toyota should pull every bit of what kbb.com claims its worth.

There was an 86 toyota at local lot with the 22r motor, the last year with straight axle, no rear diff, 180,000 miles he was asking 3g's and it was rusted all the heck. You could see where previous owner welded steel plate to keep the frame from rusting through. The truck wasnt there a week and it was sold. I couldnt believe it.

A new tundra you can prolly get close to what you paid for it, to help take a chunk outta the new truck payment.

Hmmm... lots of diesel lovers here. I must say I think they are pretty hard to beat. Now I am set of getting 4x4... already listed my current truck.... but maybe im just not ready for the diesel yet I mean a toy hauler would be at least a year away and I would probably start with a small 19 footer or something.... so maybe ill just get another tundra and when I need the pull out the big guns I will go get a monster diesel. The new '07 tundras are suppose to be coming out in a few months and are going to have a 5.7 V8 in them with a 10,000 Towing Capacity, however I dont trust new cars in there first few years so maybe ill buy one in 2009.

My dad's Sierra 2500hd w/6.6 duramax turbo isn't loud or smelly at all and pulls a 20ft trailer with a car on it without a problem with or w/o the trailer brakes. On the freeway it can get 22mpg! And diesels retain their value as good, maybe better, than Toyotas and Hondas. Look into the Titans?

Juat today I heard a guy talking about how the Titans are not that great. Said he has been having a ton of problems with his...

Hey Woodro. If you don't like machines that smell and are loud then why you ride a Banshee? Or is your stock?

If you got the Cash I would deff go for a diesel. Just as others have said they, get more MPG, hold better value, last longer, and its better to have power and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I like the ford 7.3 diesels in the f250. don't ask me why but they are slow as shit in the 350's . I just did a water pump the other day on an f350 7.3 liter and took it for a ride and it was a bow wow. Couldn't get out of its own way. now my pop's got a 2000 f250 7.3 with the stage 3 hypertech program in it and that things f*ckin rips. It spins the back tires when he's towing his 30 foot camping trailer from a red light if you punch on the pedal. I mean the gas mileage after putting the program in went from around 13-15 to about 18-20 around town. and it doesn't matter what your towing. the mpg stays virtually the same. I wish they made a V6 from the ford 7.3's to put in an f150. I'd be all over that 5.4 liter diesel. But as far as the ford triton engines. I don't care for em at all. I've seen the aftermath of too many spark plugs getting blown out of the heads because of poor engineering. as far as petrol engines, i'd go for Dodge or GM

Little off topic, but i got pretty frustrated digging my 2WD Tundra outa the sand at glamis all weekend long.  Wanting to get a 4x4. Was thinking about just getting another tundra but with 4WD instead of 2WD because I love this truck, handles great and has good power for what I need.

Another option I am looking at is getting a F-250 Turbo Diesel.

Here are my thoughts, for the moment the tundra can tow pretty much everything that i currently own. However looking down the road I am thinking of getting a toy hauler and dont really want to be all that restricted. The tundra could probably pull a nice size hauler, but I dont want to be in the position I am in now, having a fairly new truck that just cant do what I need it to do (and right now thats getting outa the sand).

What are all your thoughts? Do many of you have Ford Diesels? How do they hold up? How are they on fuel?  Any of you have 4x4 tundras? How well can they tow through the loose stuff?

I want something that isnt going to break down on me. My tundra has been great, I have beaten it pretty good and it still drives like the day I got it.

Price wise they are almost identical. Actually the F-250 being cheaper... but that doesnt mean that much to me.

I have a 05 F250 and I love it its twice the truck my friends Dodge is. The only good thing about a dodge is the cummins. The ford, well the whole truck is sweet.
