sheefreak Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 If anyone can get that thing to run, it would be Sparks Racing. They were messing w/the Warriors when they came out. But I hope you don't expect an old 2 valve design to be a screamer or anything. Quote
dawarriorman Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 A warrior is never going to be that fast. You could dump a few grand into the motor only to be beat by a piped banshee (or 450, or raptor). That being said, I believe that people with the big stroker motors have made hp in the 40s. But a simple cam and piston change even with a ported head won't make it that fast. Back when I had my warrior I thought it was fast with a cam and piston. Then I got my banshee and realized a stock banshee would kill it. Sparks would be a good choice. I know Powroll used to do alot of work with them, not sure anymore though. Quote
iceman Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 put a diff engine in it. warriors are good for slow riding and hauling stuff around. youre not gonna go fast on one. Quote
pimpeinkc Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 read my sig, nuff said,,,,,, i put tons of cash in that bike and am so much better off now, if you are still wanting to make it go,,,, port the head, get a hot cam and hi compression piston, bigger carb is a must as well..... the pipe did not do much, or the k&n... cam and piston around 150 - 200 carb - 200+ almost up to the price of a used yfz450 Quote
thegroup Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 warriors can be made fast, not the fastest on the track, but fast enough. im getting ready to do 2 400 strokers(95 & 98) as of right now. ill keep u posted on how they run. my old one(friend bought with the crank blown out) had a standard cam, high-comp JE piston, alba exhaust, port and polished head, and holeshot XCR with 10 ITP rims and would run 60-65mph. 3ban5shee0 Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 i dont want it to be fast i had one a couple of years ago it was a good reliable quad i just wanted something that would last and keep up with my buddys Quote
sheefreak Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Sounds like a good bike for you then. Like I said, I would give Sparks a call. Quote
ridenfast03 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 THEY did a build up in dirt wheels one time of a 450 kits that this was said to be kinda fast, dont know bout how long it would last. to keep up with ur buddies maybe u need to ride a little harder!!! just joshin with ya do some research c what every one else is doin to make them run!!! dnhyoung Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I would definitely recommend http://www.powroll.com Quote

bigboybanshee Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I wouldn't put a whole lot into it...my buddy spent damn near a grand on high compression piston, titanium valves, cam, bigger carb, etc. and only gained a few hp. I was still kicking his ass on a stock port banshee with just pipes and filter, and I weigh a 100 lbs more than he does. I'd give him a 3 or 4 quad head start and still spank him in 100 yards. Granted, he would go through some trails I could only look at, but all in all he was always last in a race....he got fed up with it and sold it for a grand, and took that money and put it into a yfz450...then wondered why he didn't do it sooner I think you'd be better off not putting the money into the engine and save it for maintenance/repairs or a down payment on another quad; just my measly .02 Quote
