banshee tuner Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 I think the clear coat will wear off and rust up real bad. Quote
aschultz91 Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 polish them then get the powdercoated with a clear coat.. that should last a while. Quote
RNBRAD Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Clear coat will prevent the rust, for how long? It also kills the true shine. Quote
Toybreaker Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Spray it with Polyeurathane. Give it 3 coats and it will last a long time. Quote
Wallrat Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Its pretty tough to keep a clear coat from showing some cloudiness. Plus everytime you hit a patch of gravel you'll have to worry about chips. If you shine em up real nice then chrome shouldn't be all that expensive. Usually the most expensive part of chroming is in the prep. Might be worth looking into. Quote
