twincylinder Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Ok well il start off buy saying i just replaced the clutch in my shee that is only 3 months old and it had no clutch abuse, one day it jsut started to slip alot so i adjusted it by the manual with no luck..I replaced it and it now works fine..I dont understand why it went bad so fast in a new machine, but when i changed it the oil was also grey and kind of milky. the oil had been changed a couple times prior to this.Does it sound like maybe the water pump seal is bad and getting collant in the oil and maybe thats what ruined the clutch? , Iv heard antifreeze can ruin the fibers and i dont want that to happen to the new one..also that last few times iv been out the bike seemed to smoke wildly out of the right side at high rpm and right after backing off the throttle from high rpm but i didnt really notice if it was white smoke or not.The bike has always smoked evenly..can the water pump seal cause anitfreeze to get in to the cylcinders and oil some how? does anybody have any ideas? PS. the bike runs perfectly if thats helps any Quote
sheenut05mx Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 (edited) Have you been riding in a lot of water ? Have you had to add coolant? If not it could be getting in the trans oil, if leaking past the seal, and beacause of the leak it could have damaged the crank seal on the right side only causing it to leak at high R"s Also it doesn't have to be white smoke because it will suck in oil from the trany with the small amout of coolant, Edited January 19, 2006 by sheenut05mx Quote
twincylinder Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 no, the bike hasnt been rode in any water. I never really checked to see if it was low on coolant before i drianed it to put the cltuch in . Quote
sheenut05mx Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 (edited) I would just replace the water pump seal for some cheep insurance and see what happerns for there. Also check current seal for damage or signs of leaking when installing new one Edited January 19, 2006 by sheenut05mx Quote
