sycoracer911 Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 alright im thinking about purchasing a cool head with 21 cc domes.. infact im almost positive im purchasing it.. but first i need to know what performance gains im looking to get... and where at... will it be noticeable... i know with the 21cc doems i can still run 94 octain fuel.... well guys give me some info Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 What is your elevation? Higher compression will be felt more in the low end. Quote
GYTWYPT Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Dont think you will see much of a diffrence with 21cc domes at that elevation. If any,, Quote
sycoracer911 Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 really what domes would i need i still only want to run pump gas Quote
jjfizzle51 Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 youll see little gains but it will cool alot better and if you go any smaller in domes youll probley have to run race gas is it the one nyuk is selling in the for sale section thats a great deal if you want one go with that one Quote
sycoracer911 Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 ok i did some of my homework.... acording to noss machines diagram this is the compression ratings for 1500 elevation 19cc domes... estamated compression 163.5 20cc domes... estamated compression 152.5 21cc domes... estamated compression 141.5 stock............. estamated compression 121.5 i have also looked at trinity racing site and they said you can run up to 160psi before you need to run race gas... now my question is... if i were to get the 21cc domes (141.5 psi) and i advanced my timeing 4 degree's what would my psi be then? acording to this i think i will be bumping up my compresion 20 psi.... i think that should result in a good low end gain? am i right? yes it is nyuk's and im almost positive im buying it now Quote
aguita Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 I just put my head on i have +4,and 20cc and couple more mods..and hell yeah you feel some gains! i feel alot more torque on the low end!!! i deff noticed the diff rite away! Quote

aguita Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 what octane are you runnin? 460796[/snapback] I run 50/50 With Vp 98 and the premium fuel that isnt that good down here...and some times run 103 Vp Quote
Old Two-Smoke Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 If your a gear head, you will feel a differance. Timing has no effect on static compression. I run much higher compressions in the winter but its easy to keep cool. In the summer I run less just because of the heat issue. The head helps the cooling, mine runs about 5 degrees cooler. I never worry about gas I have been running 100LL/ Nitropropane/92 mix for years. Get yourself a couple sets of domes and play. You will love the head (dont we all) Quote
