onebadbanshee91 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 A friend had her warrior out and it just died, lights went out and the starter was not even cranking. Pulled the fuse before the starter relay(thought it was solenoid) and it was blown. We put another 10A fuse in but the end broke off so we put a I believe 32A fuse in and I was able to turn the lights on. When you push the start button the starter relay makes a vibrating tick noise. So we pushed the quad and you can jump start it and it runs fine. So is the starter relay bad or what? Let me know soon because she ready to take it to the dealer and Id like to save her some money. Robert Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 check your ground and charge the battery Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 (edited) My old warrior was notorious for this problem. Check your battery is totally charged, and check the connection of the power line to your starter. If the relay clicks, its good. My connection up at the starter would rattle loose about every other week no matter what I did to it. You might need a new starter. I had to out a new stator in mine after it did this a couple times. Then I sold it. lol Take a jumper cable and go from a car battery right onto the starter (with key and kill switch in on position) and see if it turns over. You might have to wiggle that little connection on the starter a little bit. That's where mine would break. The starters are easy to rebuild if you have access to brushes. Pretty simple little units. 99Banshee Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Its the starter... My sisters warrior does this.. if u take a screw driver and connect the two wire's that go to the starter ill turn over.. Quote
Hilarious Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 If you're blowin' fuses left and right, check the wires around the top of the steering stem. I was havin that problem and there's a little bracket in there that frayed some of the wires and was letting them touch the frame. It would make contact with the frame and blow fuses. I dont know just a thought. You may have the same problem. Also, check your battery connections. If your starter was bad, I dont think it would turn over at all. Quote
thegroup Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Im thinking solenoid. Where is the noise coming from? Under the rear fender? At the starter? My warrior did that at the solenoid and all I did was tightened the wires and no problems since then (ex. for the crank going out) Quote
suzuki0702 Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 theres only one wire on the starter... i use to have a 01 warrior and i know the battery cables were not contacted very well start there! later Quote
