when i purchased my banshee it came with the tors kit removed and new carb tops. well im wondering if the 2 brass screw, 1 on each carb is the idle screw or the air/mixture screw. please help im very confused, the only thing on the side of the carbs as far as an adjustabvble screw is that. it is a brass color.

Sounds like you are definitely talking about the idle screw. As a test, when you screw it in does the idle change? The only other brass screw heads you should be able to see would be flush mounted, and they are the pilot air screws. I bet you are looking at the idle screws.

What? The idle screws are set by holding the throttle at the desired engine rpm, threading the idle screws in until they raise the rpm just slightly, and then backing off about 1/4 turn. I'm not sure how you could have a set 5 1/2 turns out, it's more just when it's right, it's right.

They are both brass. One is flush mounted and the other sticks out a 1/2".

I dont kno if this made sense to any 1 else but i didnt catch it even on tors left is slower right is faster last time i checked this is how my screws worked maybe diff length than urs

You talking about the idle adjustment???? Thats why I use a flashlight and look inside the intake and adjust them equally. I move them down until they bottom out, then move them back up 1/4 turn...Good way to sync them as well as a nice idle...

It sounds like you are talking about the right screws we are just more questioning the method (are way you describe) you used to set them. Unlike the pilot air screw which will be .5 - 2.5 turns out from fully seated (closed), the idle screw doesn't really have a set 5.5 turns. They should be set by backing all the way off, holding the idle at the appropriate rpm, running the idle screws in until they bottom against the slide, raise the rpm just slightly, then back the screws out approx. 1/4 turn.

I think ur ass backwards my freind yah pilot screw is 2 to 2 1/2 the screws u r talking about r the cable adjusters not idle

The are the idle speed adjusters. Not to be confused with the pilot (idle) jetting air screws. But I'm sure some others will weigh in and set one of us straight. ;)

k chek it out I is the idle screw P is pilot and cable adjuster is on top

I think someone else is confused, the pilot screw can be set between .5 turn out to 2.5 turns out....depending on highest idle and best throttle response. We are ONLY talking about the different between idle and pilot screws...How did the cable adjusters get thrown into this???? I mentioned before about syncing the idle and idle adjusters, not cable...

I thinink this is were the i got confused why would u use your idle screw when adjusting your slides i use the cable adjuster to adjust my slides? I use the Idle screw when im sittin on my bike and listening to it runnin :shrugani:
