My friend has a Banshee

his engine is 20over

v-force 3 reeds

CPI pipes

 

stock carbs , stock needles ...

 

what Jet should he use ???

Pilot Jet ??

 

i think he's running a 280 jet

and it runs like shit ..

 

takes forever to hit the power band

bogs out !!

I don't know much about cpi pipes other than they are real good top end pipes, so I would think you would be closer to 380 than 280. Try 360 mains to start, then maybe try the 4th clip on the needles. You need bigger pilots too, try #30. I've never jetted a cpi bike so this is a guess. If you ride above 1500 ft, go a little smaller on everything.

One of the very few I never rejetted either..so I'd say go w/ what midnite said. Thats where I'd start...try different size pilots to see if that is what it needs, then try raising the needles one clip at a time. He can probably get some of that low end back....CPI pipes don't have much for low end though... :(

That's probably a good start with a 30 pilot, needle in stock postion. Other factors need to be accounted for too. How high are ya? What's the temp like?
