Ive been trying to get my 88 banshee running good after buying it as a non runner/basket case. It starts cold on about the 3rd kick and runs fine, but if the bike is stalled I cannot restart it. If you wait a few minutes it can be restarted with the kicker, or it can be bump started. it has 130lbs of compression in each cyl, and the stator was replaced with a ricky stator unit and adj timing plate. It seems as the spark is not very strong when kicking it over unless you can really kick it very quickly hence why it seems to start better when bump started. It has the original ign coil from 1988. If i had to guess i would say that it isnt getting a hot enough spark during the starting cycle, but not sure. Sorry for the loaded question, any advice?

It is a possibility that after running a while the coil gets hotter and your spark weakens. Buy a spark tester they are only like 8 bucks and check your spark when cold and warm up the bike good and check again. You can spend a lot of money swapping parts.
