rugrat30263 Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 I am in the process of putting my Banshee back together and need to know what exhaust would be best? I currently have it bored to 69.5mm with a 4mm stroker. It is fed by a pair of pwk 35mm carbs and Trinity stage 4 intakes. The exhaust I already have is a set of FMF fatty pipes and silencers. Will the pipes I have work on my bike or do I need a set of "Big-Bore" pipes? when I get the bike running will I see any difference between Pump gas and race fuel? Thanks Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 It all depends on what you're looking for from the motor. It's not ported? The fatty's would work, but then again the bike will run if you put stock pipes on it. It all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing. If you're in dunes, or mostly looking for top end I would look into some "big bore" pipes. Possibly shearers, CPI's, and Rockets...but you'll be waiting until Febuary for the rockets. On the gas question. That would depend on your domes for an aftermarket head, or if your stock head is shaved. Check you're compression when you get it all together to see if you need to run race fuel. Last time I checked 160 psi was the limit for 93 octane. Quote
RNBRAD Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Those pipes should work excellent!! I'm not a big fan of their quality but the performance is good. Quote
rugrat30263 Posted December 19, 2005 Author Report Posted December 19, 2005 I just plan on playing in some powerlines, some trails, Not really looking for top end. I dont think it is ported, when It was rebuilt the first time We had the vito's 404 kit installed. The crankshaft went out killing my new pistons. I was just wondering if the pipes would hold it back too much? Thanks for the help Quote
banshee tuner Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 For the type of riding you will be doing I would stick with the pipes you have. You are doing a lot of riding that requires bottem end and the fatties are good for that. Quote
Banchetta Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 stick w/ what you have....A few others and I are trying different pipes for the strokers. Quote
