TrickShee259 Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 I'm jetting 2 banshee's as a sidejob from my work but 1 is givin me problems. The first is bone stock except for FMF silencers and fatty pipes, boost bottle, and K&N pod filters (no more airbox). I have that one at a 320 main and middle clip on the needle and it runs GREAT. The second is running Toomey T6s, with K&N pods and v-force reeds. This one doesn't have nearly the power as the other and i have it jetted the same as a baseline, 320s and middle clip. Seems to be too rich like this... only differences is this one has the reeds but no bottle, how do i account for this. also it has problems idling, it'll hold an idle for a few seconds but then RPMs drop and it dies. No TORS on either bike Don't laugh too hard if this is easy for you, i have a 2-1 kit and i do all my own tuning on that one... (and it's easy!!) Quote
ogre03 Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 What's the elevation and temp. where your at? What rpm range is it running rich in? Quote
Banshee~ Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 What's the elevation and temp. where your at? What rpm range is it running rich in? 448353[/snapback] This is what we need to know^^^ My banshee has fmf sst pipes and k&n pod filters. Im running a 340 main, stock pilot, dynojet needle on the 4th clip. My air temp is 20-60 degrees F, and the elevation is around 1000ft. On the warmer days it wont rev out, so I have to yank the outerwares off (will go down to a 330 in the summer and run outerwares). Hope this helped Quote
brilei5 Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 The jetting sounds close. Jetting however may not be the problem. are the carbs in sync? is the compression the same in the two ( is one down a bit). It seems to me banshees become more tempermental when its time for a rebuild. are they running the same fuel/oil mix? All I am saying is your jetting numbers sound close, you may need to look elsewhere. Quote
Banchetta Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 For one. I bet the fmf shee will go even better if you raise the needles to the 4th clip from the top... TWO....for the T6 shee, I'd try adjusting the air screws for the idle and initial response and shee where the shee likes it...If it likes it better at .5 turn out vs. 1.5 turns out, then try a larger pilot...for the mains, I'd run it wide open in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, pull the clutch in, shut it off, coast to a stop, pull the plugs..post a pic of the plugs...
