BigRed350x Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Subject says it all. Never been up there this time of year. Is there snow there? How cold does it get? Thinking about taking a weeks vacation and checking out some dunes in that area. Probably head out to Oregon and check those dunes. Any info on St. Anthony's would be appreciated. Is it worth going to this time of year, or wait till summer? Thinking about Feb. or March for the trip. Quote

In october it gets down in the 40's at night. We typically make Memorial Day the first trip, and Labor Day the last trip. I also think in the winter they close off parts of the dunes to human traffic due to migration patterns of elk and or moose. Quote

Toybreaker Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Those are sone great pics! Looks like a lot of fun. I take it with the sand frozen you don't need paddles? I am kinda spoiled i live 2.5 hours from glamis and 1.5 hours from ocotillo wells. I can go riding whenever i want in the winter. Never paid attention to how long it takes to get to cantemar in the summer. Socal has great riding available year round. Quote
