sand rocket Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Im getting very tired of messing with these shitty stock carbs. You guys think that it would be worth while to go to bigger carbs. Running Cpi pipes with a dune port. Im always having problems with keeping it in the powerband. For an example, Ill be running in 2nd hit 3rd in the powerband, let off a little pin it again and bogg, kick it down to 2nd pin it and bogg. I had the same problems when i had toomey on. I got it to run decent by adjusting the needles to the 4th clip on the dyno jet needles, but know its all jacked again with the cpis. What do you guys think? Quote
blueshee03 Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 yep if i were you i'd get some 33 pwk's .they'll make big difference. Quote
Toomey Banshee Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 33 PWKS or 35 air strykers. I have the 33's with a drag port, CPI's and it flat out hauls. Quote
wayfst Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 upgrade your reeds while your at it to get the full benfit of your new carbs. Quote
23champ Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 Stock carbs are junk, upgrade as soon as possible. Quote

sand rocket Posted December 1, 2005 Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 Using dyno jet needle that is on the 2nd from the top, 25 pilots and 350 mains. Temps are 55 deg and alt is 5000-6000ft Quote
hittintrees srh Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 though they are spendy, theres no better carb than some custom Lectrons from Packard. Quote
twinzr900 Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 34 lectrons all the way!!!!! DDracing.com many othe rplaces sell these carbs also. Quote
Ducman Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 I'd say it would be worth it to get new carbs with your dune port for more total HP output, but the stock carbs if jetted right shouldn't be causing the problem you describe. Many have ran stock carbs/ CPI's and dune port before with no probs. You would just be loosing 5+ Hp from the restricted flow of the stock carbs. Quote

You must be running in the dunes...I find myself gearing alot lower when I hit the dunes due to the fast slow down when you let off. You might have a combo of both, jetting and gearing... Quote
