Malott 1 Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 lean over the tank and take first two fingers and hold the front brake bring the rpms up and start to slip the clutch till you can feel the bike wanting to move. When the flag or arm drops let go of everthing and pin it wide open and hold on. Just takes a little practice. Quote
rocketboy Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 anyone whos active in drag racing will tell you SETUP is as important ,as horsepower Quote
Toomey Banshee Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Rev the piss out of it, hold the front brake, pull the clutch till its JUST about to roll and dump it in second. Go through the gears quick and power shift all the way through. F'u'c'k' that fo fitty. Quote
Bigvincent Posted November 12, 2005 Author Report Posted November 12, 2005 Thanks for all the tips They were extremely helpful and after a few practice tries I was able to nail the start. One, my tire preassure was way too high, damn near 10 lbs. Dropped down to 5 pounds and those razors hooked up nicely. When I tried revving it real high it began to produce steam, after searching I noticed it was comming from the overflow tube. Is that normal? I still have the overflow bottle located in the rear. By the way...I smoke my buddy with the 450! Now I have braggin' rights till next time Thanks for you help/suggestions Quote
23champ Posted November 12, 2005 Report Posted November 12, 2005 if you got water comin out the overflow she is way too HOTT! Stop and let it cool down! Quote

Maybe you need to run a higher octane, provided nothing is wrong with the bike and causeing it to over heat. A higher octane will help it to run cooler. Just a thought, Traci. Quote
