icecold_shee Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Went to little sahara oct 14th wknd, and the sat before i left, i noticed i was leakin antifreeze, though i might have been overheating. When i got home, i pulled the tank cover and tank off, and noticed the leak was comin from under the cap where the throttle cable had wore a pinhole, once warm, it would shoot out a steady stream of water, had anyone else had this problem. to fix, would some jbweld work or do i need to take it to a radiator shop? Fireman-hott Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 If its coming out of a hose, honestly just replace the hose. If its the radiator try a local truck stop, like the TA, they usually carry a radiator leak stopper. Or go all mythbuster and drop an egg in there. Worked like a charm, I was rather impressed. Worst come to worst I'm gonna beputting a toomey radiator on I may be up for comng off my stock one xtra cheap. Quote
87sheerips Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 crazy, a buddy of mine ran into the same probloem. He used some JB weld and its fine. Good luck! Quote

dawarriorman Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Buy a new radiator. All of those quick fixes aren't permanent, and possibly bad for your cooling system. Those radiator leak sealers that you see at the store have tiny pieces of aluminum in them that seal the leak. Problem is they can clog up the radiator to some degree, and they also tear up the seals. You don't want JB weld either. The best thing to do for a temporary fix is to solder the leak. Even that isn't permanent though. Just get a new one, and save yourself future hassel. Quote
icecold_shee Posted October 25, 2005 Author Report Posted October 25, 2005 i went to the local radiator shop and he braised it or soldered it for 20 bucks, installed it later that day, and so far no leaks, the throttle cable is now zip tied off. Quote
