I have rode friends quads for a couple years now and I have finally decided to buy my own. I have rode Banshee's before and I like the way they ride. Im gonna get a 06 Shee. But I would like to know what I need to do to keep it in tip top shape. Also a friend said something about 2-strokes needed to be serviced(?) often, is there any truth behind this? if so I would like to know exactly what needs to be doen. I will be geting a Shee regardless just wnat to be able to take care of her after I beat her to death with a day of riding. Also what kind of normal upkeep should I do? Amny other info would be greatly appreciated for this shee newb.

Also something to consider is that the banshee hasn't been significantly changed since 1991 but the price continues to go up on the new models. Why buy an 06 for $6k when you could pick up a mildly modded '04 for $5k? The first thing you'll want to do to the new bike is change the pipe and filter and jet accordingly. Might as well save some cash and let someone else buy the mods.

Whether you buy new or used, if its got a stock air filter assembly, get rid of it and get some kinda of clamp on set up. There are several different brands of adapter plates and filters floatin around.
