Just a question about wet weather

Ok now when I put the K&N on with prefilter, pipes, re-jet, will I be ok to take off the snorkle? Or can I drill holes in the lid? I will be riding in some really wet weather this winter untill about May or June. Or should I just spend another $100 or whatever it is for the K&N lid too?

I dont have the snorkel and my air box is ported, I have uni foam filter with foam outerwear. I ride in some nasty stuff, mud and water and lots of mud, and havent had a problem.
