There seems to be a flat spot when going from 5-6 gear full throttle. When I shift from 5-6 gear it will fall out of the powerband and then slowly picks back up? Any ideas

Try lowering your gearing, maybe go one tooth smaller in the front. You have to have a lot of speed by the time you hit 6th to keep it in the powerband the whole time.

Agree... doesn't sound like you actually have a bog associated with too big of a main jet, since it will slowly build the RPM back up. If it bogged and didn't clean up, then I would be looking to make some jetting/needle adjustments. But sounds like a gearing issue. If you wanted to make some adjustment you could try richening the needle a half position (if you have the needle washers) and see if that helps, just in case you are slightly lean on that circuit, but it doesn't really sound like you are.

if your running real clean through 5th, and laying down in 6th I would jet up a size or 2.

Stock gearing, on pavement. 162 main, CEL middle clip, 48 pilot. It runs fine just from 5-6 it falls off the pipe.

with stock gears and cubs you shouldn't run out of motor, I still feel you need more fuel.

what size carbs, timing, compression, type of ingition?
