2twin350s Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 sounds like the top end is weak, but as a last ditch effort, check the choke transfer tube between the carbs. they fall off a lot. it is a 3 inch rubber vacumn line between the carbs joining them together.it goes just in front of the slides at the tops of the carbs.if it is missing it could be your problem. i would also check the compression. Anything else up here has ethanol in it. I also use the Yamalube R oil for mixing. Quote

I'm pretty sure if he hasn't figured out the starting problem, he's not going to by now... If you have lower compression...as in 150ish or less, you're wasting money or race fuel and actually probably hurting performance... Quote
