tOj Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Time to bust out the big f'n hammer I'd say.. Might be easier as well if you take the carrier off the swingarm to get the whole thing off the bike. Should be able to get more leverage that way. Quote
quad4me Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 (edited) so did you get the axle out of the carrier yet? If so....then I just stood the axle on end and "HIT"(knocked the shit out of) the rotor hub with the BFH a few times till it started moving.... Edited September 24, 2005 by quad4me Quote
stockridinshee Posted September 24, 2005 Author Report Posted September 24, 2005 no the axle is still in the carrier i got it loose but it wont come all the way out if seems the center long tube thing in there is hitting the right bearing so it wont slide all the way out.does the long tube thing have to come off of the left side? and it comes all the way out ? thanks for the replys Quote
racer Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 that fucker probably seized to your axle shaft. im sure youll end up hitting it enough to drive the bearing out with the axle and then just use some heat persuasion to get that center section off. Quote
oliver566 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 I'd say the same thing as the other guys, the bearings are probably eating into the metal in the carrier, or it is just seized in place... get some wd-40 and blast it with a hammer, should come loose. Quote
quad4me Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 (edited) my bearing spacer was rusty...but not stuck to the axle. it drove out the right side bearing...then I had to pursuade the spacer to come off with some tapping. The rust came off enough to slide it off the axle. Then the bearing and hub were knocked off with the BFH. Edited September 25, 2005 by quad4me Quote
