made it to sandfest OK this weekend and my bud's dad is friends with one of the less poor guys up there. he owns a few things in town and im pretty sure he owns the bar on the sand also. but anyways, i got to hang out with that guy for a while and riding in his X-5 was probably the most fun thing i have ever done. 26" of travel up front and 24" in the rear controlled by KING coil carriers and KING triple tube bypasses. it rides like a fucking cadillac. we were on a pretty liquid diet that night and no matter how out of hand his throttle foot got the car soaked it up, a built LS-1 is no joke of a motor either.

if i wasnt such a fool id have taken pictures of it my self, but i didnt. banghead

i just thought id share with you all.

BTW dune_girl is a punkass who will tell you to come hang out and then pass out by the time you get there.

I hear ya. I'm too tall to ride in smaller rails. My only rides have been in big cars. Amplified and an All Star. Can't believe the feel in the gnarliest of shit. One of the guys in camp bought a Buckshot (guess X5) this summer. Haven't ridden in yet.

Cant remember the make, but at RF04, there was a rail there that Walt got to ride in.

He said they took the whoops to the drag hill at about 80 mph, and he said he could have had a drink in his hand it was so smooth.

Whats the going price on one of those triple tube bypass King coils? I always see them in the magazines, but haven't ever seen a price. I bet it has a few 0's behind it.

The triple bypasses are just the shocks. You still need coilovers next to them! Big $.

Funco's use Airbags instead of coils. I've seen them take some unreal dips and come out smooth.

shit stan, i dunno. they come in 2", 2.5", 3", and 4" models. i think Kings start at like $600 for a bottom of the line coil-carrier. so depending on bore and stroke they go up. then you get into the bypasses which vary in even more ways.

bottom line they are fucking expensive. id bet the guy had a cool 10g's in shocks and springs. then you gotta get em valved right.

and the guys job is to mow lawns, i dont understand.

Dude, the cost of these things is crazy.

I agree, there is nothing like riding in a V8 powered rail. A Banshee is fun, but once you drive a big car, you won't go back.

My shee has not moved since last January.
