webbug Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 I have brought a new Ford F-150 and its time to get rid of my trailer. I want to use ATV ramps for the ford, with limited information I require your advices, experiences and photos of your ramps. Quote
erik6767 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 i gota f150 too all i did was go to home depot, buy two 2x10's then went to walmart and for liek $20 bought those metal ramp end things, they sell em at every walmart, they are just metal plates basically that you drill holes in your 2x10's and bolt these on so they sit flat on the back of the bed and dont slip off while riding it up,,, total cost of ramps about $30-35, cant beat it Quote
ellison445 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 YEap, That the same setup I use Only downfall is the ramps are a little on the heavy side i gota f150 too all i did was go to home depot, buy two 2x10's then went to walmart and for liek $20 bought those metal ramp end things, they sell em at every walmart, they are just metal plates basically that you drill holes in your 2x10's and bolt these on so they sit flat on the back of the bed and dont slip off while riding it up,,, total cost of ramps about $30-35, cant beat it 419282 Quote

Get the treated wood too, they'll last longer if you're like me and leave the ramps in the back of the truck all the time ramps are a little on the heavy side 419291 You pansy....LOL j/p Quote
ellison445 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 (edited) After a long day of ridding, those ramps can be a bitch.Specially when you have to load up 4 bikes on your own like me You pansy....LOL Edited September 26, 2005 by ellison445 Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 I really like my aluminum ramps for loading into my F150. I wouldn't buy or make anything else $120 for a set of arched aluminum ramps. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Specially when you have to load up 4 bikes on your own like me 419306 Good point!! Quote

watkins Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 I have a nice aluminum folding ramp that plenty wide and fits all quads (no positioning of 2 different ramps to get it just right) and it hooks onto the hitch so there is no way it can slide out from underneath you. However I quickly realized that it was quicker to put the bike in without a ramp, than to get the ramp out and set it up. So now the ramp is just collecting dust. Quote
