taldoc3 Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 (edited) First off, I have tried boysen reeds they made no diff. they are very easy to install, but for a true diff. in throttle response go with v-force they cost more, but you get what you pay for, the boysen reeds will make little or no diff. than stock reeds, unless you have your stock cages ported by a machine shop and then you will tell a diff. in your bikes performance Edited August 22, 2005 by taldoc3 Quote

I bought some boyeson reeds and to me they just felt like a stock replacement, little or no improvement power wise. Reeds are really easy to change out though. Once you unbolt the cages you'll see how simple they are to swap out....a few screws and that's it, no space age tools required Just be sure to replace the gaskets when you do it!!! Quote
crbanshee Posted August 22, 2005 Author Report Posted August 22, 2005 im not too concerned with more power just from reeds i just need to replace them mine are fryed..i got close to 400 hrs on them.. Quote
hittintrees srh Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 do the reed peddles have to be flush and tight against the cages? Mine stand up by about a millimeter(not a lot at all). There not cracked or nothing like that, they just "hover" a little Thanx! Quote

A tiny space between is not bad, but you don't want to have all of them with a gap. You can flip the reed petals over and they'll seal better and keep you from having to buy new ones for the time being. Quote
