AirForceRulz Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Aight fellas. I finally saved cash for the shee. But i am still debating on what to do with the motor. I know i am getting Lightened flywheel = $60 Advanced timing with the plate = $50 Noss Head w\20cc domes(or 18's) = $300 New Rear Tires = $200 That leaves me with about $900 for the motor. Locogato suggested Eric Gorr's trail port like $250 more or less. and some carbs like $300. But A&S and other builders charge $400 to 600 for port jobs and i'm thinking thats better work(more power) thats part of my dilemma. But....... I started looking at jims(passion) site and the 12port 4mm stroker kit is like $1300 I dont know how much installation and all that stuff is but, will the stroker make more or less power than the other setup, how much power (if any1 knows) I just want some educated suggestions about the two setups and the power that they will make. Please help so that i can send mymotor out so i can get the power most of every1 here has. Also, what about a CUB setup how much power more or less and comparison with the other two setups. Thanx for the help guys. Quote
RNBRAD Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Just bolting on a set of non-ported cubs is suppose to give you more power than any porting you can do to stock cylinder. So they say. So really considering the price of porting 400-500 and selling your stock juggs, that should put you pretty close to a set. That is if you want the stock stroke juggs. If you want a 4mil stroker or such, it's a different ball game. You will be looking at around 500 for the crank as well as parts needed for tear down and assembly, plus the juggs. My understanding from others is that you just can't beat the power for the price of a 4mil cub. I'll know how true this is soon. Quote
AirForceRulz Posted August 17, 2005 Author Report Posted August 17, 2005 I really dont ride my bike here much cause there is too much damn loose dirt. But when i do ride it's pretty much fast trail riding racing my buddies on thier 450's. But what i look foward to is dune riding. Some drags up comp hill and some fast beach riding in Mexico stuff like that. Some times a bunch of people get together and drag race on dirt. So i would say pretty much fast riding/drag(moderate) racing. Quote

AirForceRulz Posted August 18, 2005 Author Report Posted August 18, 2005 I am talking about a passion 4 mm stroker engine not just the port job itself. In comparison to a eric gorr port w stoke stroke. Just wanna know how big of a diference thier is between the two. Pretty much wanna know how big the difference between stoke stroke 350 and 4mm stroke 350 Is it night and day? Or do each have thier ups and downs? Quote
AirForceRulz Posted August 18, 2005 Author Report Posted August 18, 2005 I live far west like towards the three points area! what about you? Quote

AirForceRulz Posted August 18, 2005 Author Report Posted August 18, 2005 Cool man I looked thru gorrs site and damn this dude fills you in on all kinds of shit, about how they work and shit. I will take your word for it, i'll get his porting. One more thing dude, if i wanted to go with a 4mm stroker crank, can i just buy one and have it installed and slap my cylinders on after they are done? Or is there more stuff that has to be done? If so what are they more or less, I know i can just ask the builder these things but I know you got the skills to fill me in on the shit b4 a builder tries to bullshit me into buying a bunch of stuff i dont need. Thanx bro! Quote
wesw Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 well i will chime in here. i have jims 12 port +4 stroker, yeah it cost some money but after some critical jetting i got it to make 82 hp with shearers. check my results in my sig i havent ridden a gorr port, i sure its good. i will also say jims motor is a running beast. my port job i can lug it around in the trails and then it has plenty of top end power. its not a full out dragger like some but its close, it does get beat, but its beyond fun. i also know big blue had a dune port 350 from jim you can ask him about it also it made good power also. think it made 70 hp with shearers also. you can pm big blue about his old motor, for other sources so its your choice, just throwing some other info in. wes Quote
Fireman-hott Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 And on a stock stroke 68mm bore ported cub with rockets and all mymods I'm sure I'm putting down more Horses and Torque than stock cylinders could ever match on Gas. Go with cubs, if you can afford a 4 mill crank thats the way to go, if not at least get a port on the cubs opens up even more power outta them. get some domes made for your riding, mine are cut for more midrange. Which may explain why I do so damned well in the trails with topend pipes. I recommend Nate McCoy for cubs. Guy knows his shit period. Will talk your ear off, I haven't had a phone coversation that lasted less than 45min with the guy in 4 convos I have had. He'll get what you want and how you want it. Quote

Thanx bro! 405875[/snapback] if u wanna go 4mm you need to tell eric before you do this. that motor will be a torque monster if you go 4mm with his porting...perfect for trails and woods. and you can run high gearing to pull out those 6th gear straightaway runs...
