stuntmasta3o5 Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 (edited) light bulb: electric lamp consisting of a glass bulb containing a wire filament (usually tungsten) that emits light when heated...The incandescent light bulb uses a glowing wire filament heated to white-hot by electrical resistance, to generate light (a process known as thermal radiation). The bulb is the glass enclosure which keeps the filament in a vacuum or low-pressure noble gas, or a halogen gas in the case of quartz-halogen lamps (see below). In Australia a light bulb is commonly called a light globe, most Australians don't realise that "globe" is not used in this sense outside Australia. 403862[/snapback] Correct me if I am wrong(Although I am never incorrect) but the term "Light Globe" was used back in the 1800s when a famous character, Thomas Eddison invented it. MeltIce, you need to refer back to a encyclopedia becuase your definition is incorrect . BTW, I use GE Lights which use a total of 7 volts per hour and have been calibrated to the my elevation level (about 1500 ft above sea level) for maximum performance - Been using them for abbout a year and a half and have no problems with them . My suggestion would be to change your current lightbulb and configure to your whole house watts, volts used per week. Then decide which is the best "light bulb" for you .
