A lockup is a plate that sits on your clutch pack that has wieght on it. When your motor vrevs the weights are pulled outwards. The weight put preasure on the pack and lock it up so it can't slip. check out there web page www.directdrivecnc.net

sorry to butt in on your post but i would like to say that anyone who installs a lockup on they're clutch should also install a clutch bearing kit to go with it.the bearing kit will help prevent the pushrod, ball and adjuster from melting they're selves together.as anyone knows that has ever had this happen ,it ain't a very nice thing.i installed a lockup and melted them within a few minutes and had to almost get a new shaft for my tranny that the pushrod goes through.the kits range in price from $35 to around $45 depending where you get it.just trying to save anyone from having the problem that me and many more have had.
