AirForceRulz Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Noss Head w/18cc domes - $250 Billet timing plate - $100 Lighten flywheel - $60 4 hrs. x $50/hr - $200 for install of Head,Timing plate, flywheel, and rejet. Does this sound reasonable? What do you think of the mods? The builder saids about 7 or 8 hp with the mods. Does it sound right? Also for a port job saids $450, but with that port job I will have to weld crank for becaus eof the power. Also saids carbs will have to be changed. Saids power will be around 65 to 68 hp with this. He also told me that a CUB cylinder will run me $900, but with that my power will be up to around 71 to 75 hp. Any input or recomendation wil be greatly appreciated !! Quote

ellison445 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Here ya go, Get yourself a clymers manual, you will save alot of cash http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47286 sounds too expensive for me...dude those services arent that hard to do yourself...maybe the jetting but im sure that everyone around here could help u out with that..if im not mistaken there is a jetting guide on here..later bro 399821 Quote
jmoore Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 That's crazy! Do it yourself. While you are saving lots of cash, you will also learn alot. I did all of those myself and I did not have a clue when I started, now all that shit is easy stuff. Get a Clymers. And ditch the billet timing plate and buy a normal one. That will save you 60 bucks right there. Anyway, thats what I think. Dont be scared to rip into it. Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 no way. do it yourself man. and 4 hours??? bullshit. i can install all that stuff in about an hour...im sure most people here can as well. Quote
Banshee~ Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Noss Head w/18cc domes - $250Billet timing plate - $100 Lighten flywheel - $60 4 hrs. x $50/hr - $200 for install of Head,Timing plate, flywheel, and rejet. 399819 You can get a ricky stator adjustable timing plate for $35 new. Like most people said, get yourself a clymers manual ($25-30) and save yourself $175 to buy some reed cages or a aftermarket filter if you dont have one. You might not even have to rejet it...just put it on and use the choke trick to tell if you need to rejet. It would probley take me 4 hours to do it if you need to rejet. Rejetting the stock carbs is a bitch with the pos carb boots and tors box . Quote
rocketboy Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 lighter flywheel =50$ rickey stator timing plate= 35$ milled rechambered head for 18cc with engine ice =120$ head gasket= 10$ 1.5 hours of your free time=free pissin all over that clown mechanics estimate =priceless Quote
AirForceRulz Posted August 2, 2005 Author Report Posted August 2, 2005 Thanx! Phuck it. I'll tear into it, I actually know how to werk on cars, but i guess i'm just a little intimidated by the fact of the banshee being a 2 stroke! But what the Phuck the book tells you everything. If not i have all of you guys. But what about the true and welded crank thing, will i really need it if i get some porting done? Also I have read alot of Eric Gorrs port jobs I think i am gonna try him out. And if i do get the porting am i gonna need bigger carbs if so , where do i get them and more or less how much $$$. One more thing I decided to take my air box lid off my bike. And with the 260 jets that were in the carbs it bogged down like in 5th and 6th gear. So i went and bought some jets at my local yamaha dealer.($3.95 a piece) I got some 270's and some 280's. Of course i put the bigger ones in but i'm not sure if i need to do anything else to the carbs. I think it's running good but it kinda smelt like antifreeze and then it started dripping the shit from the radiator, could this be from the jetting( maybe running hot) My filter is the factory foam filter. Will a k&N werk alot better. Thanx for the help guys. Quote
AirForceRulz Posted August 2, 2005 Author Report Posted August 2, 2005 Sorry about that long ass "run on sentence" i just typed. Air mixture screws might have to be turned if so where are they? Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 gorr's woods port is badass..33mm pwk work very well with his porting. youll gain power everywhere. you can get them at www.pro-flo.com. you dont have to run bigger carbs asthe stock ones will be fine, but you will gain largely on top with the 33mm pwk..
