hey i see people shorten up their stock swingarms

so i got the thinking i would like to do this, I would assume its much much cheaper then buying a lonestar one or something

so i was looking at mine and just couldnt figure out where to take the 2 inches off of it

im wondering if somebody on here could show me a picture of a stock one shortened, or let me know where they took out the 2 inches

thanks

anywhere behind the shock mount. have fun with those stock mounts lining back up tho. i have done several and they are not fun. i suggest a roundhouse carrier conversion from cotton eyed joe...

"behind" as in closer to the wheels and away from the frame side of the mount?

i believe ya that its gonna be a biatch to get those lined back up

definatly going to be an over the winter project

if you reallywanna do this i would recommend going with the round carrier conversion. makes life so much easier. i have done several of them now if you wanna have someone do it.

by the sound of you and looking again that really looks like its the ideal way to go

how much does cotton eyed joe sell the kits for?

it wont be happening tomorrow, but this is something to do over the winter while the bike is on shutdown

thanks loco

215 shipped foreverything you need to dothe swap and the carrier...

what exactly does a shorten swingarm do?

helps you get more traction at the rear wheels...helps with handling and turning as well. it would be a must for flat trackin or mxing.

well i would love to send it to somebody over the winter but i hate sending stuff across borders

my boss owns a high pressure welding company that he worked at for several years, so i think im going to get the swinger choped where i would like it to be and let him weld the round housing back on, or possibly the stock mounts but more than likely the round housing, i trust his welding skills to do it for me, he has welded stuff that has to handle alot of psi so i trust him

thanks alot for the help youve definatly made my brain rack alot less
