LED underbody light kit

Has anyone seen this kinda light kit before? I found it in a LMC truck catalog. its called LED underbody light kit-universal fit for any car or truck.

 

it uses LED type lights which says is brighter and more durable than neon.

 

You can get a single color kit for $139 or a seven color for $239. It says it comes with two 48'' tubes and two 36'' tubes, a control box that lets you switch between the different colors and also different sequential flashing modes. The ends of the tubes plug into each other and to the control box, which plugs into your cigarette lighter.

 

Does this sound pretty good? I've tried looking for other kits and I cant find one that includes all the stuff that this one does, and 239 bucks aint that bad

dont know about for the truck but just bought some for the bike they where 2.99 each. just waiting for them to get here.

check the auot parts store for the lights you are looking for they might be cheaper

I JUST installed a set of these on my buddies probe yesterday. the red led lights, have 14 sequences, controlled by a box.

 

good things-bright, sequences are good, nobody else has anything like em!

bad things- harder then hell to find spots to run with wiring with the huge heads on the wires, the controlelr box is big and bulky!

 

but im gonna help ya out, get on ebay, you can get the same kit for 60 bucks shipped.

PM Justintoxicated. There's actually alot more to LED's than most people realize. The $2.99 variety aren't very bright - dimmer than a mini-maglight. If you want some real power you need to go with 1w, 3w, or even 5w Luxeons. Justin did a good write-up on how he made his setup. His bike is definately easy to spot now on the hill. So much so that we've nicknamed his bike 'devil smurf'.

thanks a bunch man, thats the kinda info i was lookin for. I'd be putin those on a little 2 wheel drive sonoma. I aint really sure on what color to get. my truck is red and i dont know how the red or blue kits would look with it. And if I got the 7 color kit I would be able to try different colors to see what looks the best.

 

I aint to worried about the installation part though, there's lots of room under my truck to run wires and stuff so it wouldn't be too hard

 

so what color would go with red?

hmmm. i thaught the lights under a vehicle were illegal?? i may be wrong.. but they do look good on some vehicles..i had a friend who rides a street bike and got a ticket for having them on his cbr...i thaught it was a great idea on a bike..you become visiable at night

illegal on certain colors, every state has different rules to. in Ny its legal, most likely just give ya a fix it ticket thou.

I went to Radio Shack (you can also look at some PC stores like FRY's) they have LED bulbs for like $2. (red, blue and yellow i think)

 

I made my own harness using a 9V rechargable running from under the seat to a split then up each side toward the headlights, 1 bulb on each side located just above each carb and exhautr pipe shining down on top of the motor. I also have the blue rings around my headlights on the same harness. I can run a total of 4 LED's and the bluering lights for about 4 days until it needs a recharge..

 

The lights are actually pretty bright with the 9V battery but if you can find a 12V battery pack it would be even brighter....

 

 

(damn I screwed up thought you was talking about putting them on your shee not a truck)
