My engine has decent bottom to mid, then the top just sputters and skips like shit, I checked compression. Its 136 left and 130 right. Thats bored .040 with a milled .030 head. So that seems right. And I have tried jetting , and even different carbs but it doesnt change the problem. What else could it be? I just had my wiring re-done , i guess its a possibility it could be spark, im just wondering.. could an air leak cause this?

It kind of sounds like an ignition issue to me too. Plugs look OK, right? Try to swap out the coil first, they are all the same. It's an easy one to start to rule out what could be the problems.

Is it RPM related or throttle position related? example can it be redlined in first with partial throttle and run clean or does it happen when you are at WOT? If it only does it at a certain RPM it is very likely electrical. Do you know someone with a banshe you can swap CDIs with?

It only does it in the high rpms, every gear, even in nuetral. I cut my plug wires a 1/4 inch today im gonna see if that helps any. Havent bought any carbs yet tho, so I kinda need those first :lol:

Is that compression low? I was thinking that 135 was stock. should be a little higher with milled head and bored cylinders right? Or was 125 stock?
