What kinda of filter are you running? Foam or K&N?

You should be cleanining it after every ride anyways (or at least after every trip)

An Outerwear will help with the dust but K&N filters are known for sucking in dirt. Foam filters work much better in dusty dirty conditions.. K&N's work great in Sandy conditions..... however I do run a K&N and ocasionally ride in dusty conditions and so far no issues.. but i always am thinkin about it.

Think about this for a sec... you are riding down a gravel road with the windows of your car wide open.

Then you take down the convertable top and continue riding. Which one is harder for you to breathe?

The intake takes in the same amount of air in either case and since the air is full of dust, the dust is going to either get stuck to the filter or go thru it. The only way for less dust to get to the filter is to choke off the amount of air getting to the filter which will in turn choke off the engine.

My point is, don't worry about "more dust", worry about a clean filter. You will find that your engine will breathe much better and you will enjoy the performance improvement.

The next thing you need to do is get rid of those crabs :rotflmao:

If you end up using an outerwear, make sure you keep it clean.. Ive seen them get clogged up. Buddy of mine was riding (he had an outerwear) and was bout to shoot up a steep hill, all of the sudden his banshee just cut out and wouldnt stay running. We couldnt figure out why. So we took off the outerwear and it started right up and ran great. Thing was so clogged that it wasnt getting any air. It's a good thing he wasnt in the middle of a steep hill when that happened.
