pimp559 Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I'm getting ready to build an atv carrier on our fifthwheel. I have a design/plans to build but would like to see someone elses to make sure I don't see something better. I'm planning on carrying two banshees standing up on the sissy bar or a banshee and a dirtbike sideways on the carrier. Please post pics of your custom carrier if you have some. Thanks Quote
wesw Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 you sure you want to build something that fits on a fifth wheel. i would make a platform that fit over your bed the you could just load the bikes up. make some legs that go in the stake pockets and whatnot. you could make it latch to your fifth wheel. i ve seen guys build stuff that goes into thier reciever hitch witha platform on it. but you would have to brace it like a bitch for the weight Quote

Too I want something I can put on and take off by myself. The platform/carrier will connect to the rear of the fifthwheel with 2-3 hitch style recievers. That way I can take it off when we want to pull our boat or a Jeep with the middle reciever. Quote
pimp559 Posted June 15, 2005 Author Report Posted June 15, 2005 Get a Toyhauler! 381732[/snapback] I had the choice to buy a toyhauler when I bought our new fifthwheel but don't like toy haulers. Unless you buy a $50k hauler you can't have a fifthwheel that has a slideout like ours has. The haulers feel like your camping in a garage all weekend. I don't see the need to haul my bikes inside either. Quote
dalegoldston Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Better make sure you tongue weight is about 800 lbs for two banshees, I would be afraid of that. How about a small trailor behind the fifth wheel? Quote
