its been my experiance in car engines with chrome versus aluminum valve covers.the raw alm. dissipates heat better than chrome because of surface area.so yes there will be a gain in temps but may be acceptable.

it is possible, but how practical? the sleeves would get plated also, as will the intake transfers and exhuast ports.if it were a show bike and never going to be run it would look nice. but you would be adding metal where you don t want it.as for the heat ,i m sure it would hold in more.

it can`t be masked, nickel, copper and chrome all take different temperature baths and electric current.every part has to be clean, polished then submeged in each step for a period of time.i suggest you get yours polished.chroming is not for cylinders.

Don't get them chromed. Chrome holds in more heat than bare aluminum. Get them polished instead. It's probably alot cheaper too and in my honest opinion I think polished aluminum looks better than chrome. If your chrome starts to chip that's pretty much it you have to take them and get them re-chromed to fix it. On the other hand if you get a scratch or something in your polished aluminum you just get out the buffer and go to town on it and it will look like new.

i have a sponsorship with a chrome company so they do parts for me for free. what about just getting the head chromed and polish the cylinders

I would still pick something else to get chromed. The head flows coolant all through it, and it needs to dissipate heat the same as the cylinders do... :shrugani:
