What is the difference and better the tubular swing arm or the half circle swingarm?

what is the performance difference and what would be better.

Iam getting a stroker 400 motor put in and I was wondering what is a good lenght of swing arm.

Not sure on the different types of swingarms.

I have a +5 extension, and it's not long enough sometimes. My banshee dynoed at 73 hp.at the rearwheels. So if you're making more, probably need a + 8 or longer. You probably won't like a really long swingarm if you plan on doing anything other than racing.

Way more to discerning swingarm strength than buy the shape of the tubing. Check for bracing and thickness of chromoly also.

From what i understand, the rectangular tubing is stronger, but isn't as light as the round tubing.Maybe Stan or Gary can chime in and give you a definite answer.

I think what he is referring to by "half circle" is the stock rear adjustment vs. a round house.

Heres the difference.

You know when you go to adjust your chain with a stock carrier, and you need 4 wrenches? Not only that, but you have to get both sides adjusted the same or you can get a skipping chain and/or a misaligned axle.

With the roundhouse, on mine anyways, you need one allen wrench, and one open end wrench. If the bike is up on a jack stand in the rear, you can just grab the axle and pull it back (or use an adjusting tool) to where you need it. Clamp the bolts down and your done.

Even if I wasn't making and selling these, its still the best mod I've done to my banshee so far.
