broke Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Dan at Patriot took around two weeks also. It really depends when you send them in. If it is late winter/early spring, most builders are swamped and can't get them out as quickly. yeppers. best woods port around. While I can't say it is the best "wodds port" around, I haven't ridden everyones woods port it is a great job with alot of midrange and low end. RZ's have more low end stock than a Banshee will ever have no matter who ports it. Talk with some people with ported RZ's, not Banshee jugged motors. Make sure you go with someone that has some experience with the RZ's. Their port lay out is different than a Banshee's stock. So their porting will be different also. If you're going to go the route of trail motor, try some PTR mids, get the head cut for at least a 50/50 fuel, try some V-forces and a 28-30mm carb works very well. That was my last set-up. I will let you know how the RZ jugs run with a little more stroke. Quote

I'd also try and find someone who's got some experience with those jugs in particular. Quote
broke Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 I wasn't trying to step on anyone's feet, I just wanted to state that the jugs are very different although also very similar. The porting that may work with a Banshee jug may not work with an RZ jug because one or all of the port timings may not be able to be adjusted back to what a Banshee's is. The tranfers may have more timing stock than a Banshee woods port works best with. I hope I'm explaining myself enough, It's just a different animal. On an RZ you can get away with alot more exhaust timing than a Banshee and still have better bottom end than a Banshee can even be ported to. I don't beleive a Banshee can be ported to have much more bottom end than stock, just a bottom end that tranfers to the midrange smotther. I'm sure this will be argued, that my best friends bothers dad once met a person who had a Banshee that pulled off idle and ran like a drag bike on top. But just the fact that the PV closes to the point it does, with out some serious work, a Banshee will not be able to match it. Quote
