williamjernigan Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 I was wondering how cutting tread off of tires can help it hook better. Could someone please explain to me how. I know that locogato and others talk about kenda knarly's with every other row cut out of them and how well they bite. Just would like to know how? Also what do you guys use to cut them with. Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 it allows the rows to get a better bite on the dirt. ive run them both ways and the cut ones are better, providing you have the power to turn them because they will hook harder. i use a sawzall to cut mine. Quote
williamjernigan Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 I actually got a set of maxxis 4 snows for my tecate but I tried them on my banshee first and all I have on my banshee is sst's with k&n filter and appropriate jetting with 15/41 gearing. I pulled those ok although I know with more power it would have pulled them better especially through the higher gears but they hooked unreal. Quote
NYUK Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 they hook better, and they clean out better,if you`ve ever ran holeshots or tamers through mud you know they pack up with dirt and mud solid. the spaces don t let the dirt and mud pack up. Quote
