The Hush kit quiets the Toomey pipes, those don't look like they quiet the pipes, just put a spark arrestor there. If you need a spark arrestor, those would probably work, but if you need to meet a low sound db, dunno that they'd work.

They look good tho.

Hush kit kills about 12dbA! Most places I know don't require sound levels to be THAT low (87dbA), but If your sound level regs are REAL LOW, yeah then these may not work... These DO actually cut off a few decibels, but probably only about 4-6 dbA. Hard to tell without a tester, but it is a very noticeable difference! I'll post the exact levels of the sound test when I can get ahold of a sound level tester!! (I'd rather "borrow" one or take my Shee somewhere rather than pay $80 bucks for a tester)

I'll let you know!

First Sound Test Results!!

Okay, I know I didn't quite do this correctly... I didn't have time to pull the quad out into the open and level it out and all that stuff (and I couldn't find the actual test procedures online yet), so I just did a quick test in the Garage with my new SPL meter.

I did find the proper procedures and specs to PROPERLY test it, but I'll do that later! This is just the preliminaries.

OK, I Tested this at IDLE!

With Sparkys OFF (original configuration) at Idle, it tested @ 92dbA

With Sparkys ON (new configuration) at Idle, it tested @ 86dbA

That's 6dbA of NOISE REDUCTION!!! WOoo-hooo!!

I tested it exactly the same way both times so I figure thats fairly accurate. However, since I did not use the correct procedure to test it by USFS standards, the sound levels may be actually be somewhat different (higher or lower, I donno), but I imagine the results will be similar! T-5's usually register at about 99dbA with the original configuration, so I'm expecting it to be about 93-94dbA once I test it correctly.

I'll Let you know!!

Hi,

As far as I knew, the test is performed at 3500 rpms and at a specific distance and angle from the exhaust outlet, I'll look into it.

Actually I have the specs to test them correctly already... I just didn't have the time. It's actually at 3750rpms (wierd I know...but thats it) I explain later...getting ready to go test them!

Hey soupersport nice work there!

Looks good

Absotively Posilutely!! (well...and some change anyway)

Sorry guess...couldn't find my dwell meter (Tachometer) so the Official sound test has to wait until I can find one. Oh well!

Whooped up on a Predator in my "backyard" tonight though! (wasn't very hard) :jesterlaugh:
