how do i get this flywheel off

i was going to put my adjustable stator plate on today and i can not get the nut broke loose on the flywheel, the engine dont have enough compression to hol it, how do i do it???

That's why they make a FLYWHEEL PULLER tool. duh

An impact gun works great as well.

The flywheel puller is a must! Also an impact wrench makes it twice as easy.

A flywheel puller will do no good unless the flywheel nut is off first.

use an impact wrench to get the nut off the flywheel. Then use a flywheel puller, if you don't have one... go get one. Your local dealer will most likely have one for around $20. Mine is acually for a CR 250 but it works on the banshees also (just incase your yamaha dealer doesn't have one).

flywheel puller. paid 11 bucks for mine at the dealership. it wokrs for the cr500, cr250 and banshee that i know of. like 23champ said, you need to get that nut off with a 17mm impact first. you can prolly get a buddy to hold the flywheel and that should be enough to get it spun off.

as the shop i go to says.................that flywheel puller works for 90% of the dirtbikes and ATV's in the world

If you don't have an impact, use a strap wrench to hold the flywheel in place to loosten the initial nut.
