JArmShee Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 Anyone know a good web page or a place where I can find a step by step procedure on how to rejet. I have exploded pictures and understand what everything on the carb does. I just have never had one apart. Thanks Anthony Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 what are your mods and elevation? we can pretty much tell u where u need to be. Quote
JArmShee Posted April 21, 2005 Author Report Posted April 21, 2005 I run at sea level and at around 1500above. .50 over, Trinity stage iv manifolds 33 PWK keihin Boost bottle Boysen power reeds reed spacers toomey t5 K&N Pro design cool head 22cc domes (pump gas) I know the main jet is 165 I feel like it should be pulling way harder for the work that it has done to it. It almost feels stock. Ive had some people give me advice to go to a larger main size and thats what I was going to try next. I have read alot on the carbs i just never worked on them. Quote
NEVER SATISFIED Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 take off those carbs... turn them sideways to let the fuel out.. then turn em upside down and take the fuel bowl off.. should be 4 screws... you'll notice which is the main jet soon as you take that bowl off.. the size of the jet will either be on its side or at the end that DOES NOT screw into the carb.. JArmShee Posted April 21, 2005 Author Report Posted April 21, 2005 Exactly what i wanted to know . Thanks Quote
kenr74 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 I'm running close to the same setup you have and the carb is really easy to work with. I'm at sea level and run a 185 main with a 35 pilot. The pilot seems lean but it wouldn't idle with anything larger. I also played around with a lot of needles before I got it how I wanted. I can pull 6th gear wheelies now though so it is worth it. JArmShee Posted April 22, 2005 Author Report Posted April 22, 2005 your on race gas though. Im on 22cc domes right now and its a little dead. Im goin to go to a 21cc which will bring me right up to around 158 so I can still run pump. The quad was much hairyer with the 20cc domes on racegas. But I dont want to spend the $ on gas. so ill try the 185. Ill let you know how it goes. Thanks Quote
JArmShee Posted April 23, 2005 Author Report Posted April 23, 2005 If you dont mind me asking. what needle are you using. My pilot it 52 and it idles crisp and my throttle response is good. My mid range is a bit off and i think I should have more power up top. Im going from a 165 Main to a 185 and im going to see how that works. My needle is DEJ Taper:1.45 Length:38.1 Diameter: 2.685 On the 3rd clip. Any sugestions? Thanks Anthony Quote
kenr74 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 I'm not positive but I think I'm running a CEJ needle. I tried out about five needles and it seemed to run better with the leaner needles. Quote
