I have a 2000 Banshee that probably has less than 50 hours on it and is in great shape and no one is interested in buying it. I had it on Ebay and there was no interest and I posted it here and no much is happening. I am asking $3500 or best offer and some of the offers have been ridiculous. I have 2k into it and I don't really want to let it go for a song.

Is it really this hard to sell a Banshee? Does anyone have any advice?

It seems everyone wants a 4 stroke, But you want to know the funny thing is that when I have my shee out I get all kinds of complaiments on it. It is a old school machine that works REALLY well. I have no plans at all to sell mine.

I'd like to get 3k for mine, but no one seems to think it's worth that.

I don't think it really matters what kind of money you have in it, unless it is a full blown race bike. I had a Z400 that I got in Nov 03, sold in Oct 04. Had a pipe, filter, Beadlocks. Only got 4k for it. Owed $800 more then I got for it.

People don't want to pay big money for used quads. Its a fact. I wouldn't want to puy 3-3500 for a 2000. I could buy a new one for 6. They just don't have resale. There are too many of them. Now if you are trying to sell a Stock 250r or something, thats a different story. Don't mean to put you guys down or anything. Thats just my view.

I understand where you are coming from. So what do you think a reasonable price is?

Sell it as parts, I won't even pay $2500 for a well built one.  But you can get quite a bit by parting them out.

I would think parting out a perfectly good quad would be more trouble than it's worth.

It depends if an extra $1000 or so is worth your time.  My time isn't worth much, so it's worth it to me at least.

So I would be able to sell all the parts, even the stock ones?

I don't think that this statement is totally true. Why would someone want to pay $6000.00 for a new bike that you need to go and invest another $2-3000 to make it a decent machine, when you can go out and spend $3-5000for a bike that has the basic work done,(piped, welded crank, Cool head, extra tires) Hell that's what I did a when I got mine, I looked for what had the most invested in it and that was going to need the least to have to clean it up. I think it's has more to do ith tax time, and also the fact that people are going to more 4 strokes.

Yea you can sell stock parts, let me know if your parting it out. Im looking for some nerf bars, billet water impeller, vforce2/3 reed cages.

I don't think its even about getting a bike w/ mods for half the cost of new. I know for me personally, there is nothing like going to the dealership and pickup up YOUR bike. No one else has ridden this for you. Kind of like buying a new car. Ya know?

Its more about making that bike yours. I know I will probably get blasted for this statment but, picking up a used bike can also be getting someone's headache. I know this is probably not true 90% of the time, but there are always a few floating around w/ info that the seller "Forgot" to tell you.

As far as "What would you Pay for it then" that was posted above. Based on the first post in this thread. I would say for a 2000 w/ $1000 in mods, I know you wouldn't like this, but I don't think I would pay more then 3k. Because to me, I want to put my own pipes on there, I may want to use the bike for woods when you have some MX stuff on it. Everyone likes to make their own quad.
