LegendSS28 Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 hey guys, a few weeks back my CR125 would start, then bog down early in the ride and shut down and not start up again. I changed the plug, ran it, an it ran awesome. I shut it down than about an hour or two later went to ride again, and it bogged down and now it will not start. I tried kicking it over prolly 40 times WOT with no success...to me this seems like a jetting problem due to the changing tmeperatures and what not, although I cannot find a jet kit for this bike..is it even possible to change thejetting? any thoughts on what the problem may be, thanks in advance Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 sounds like its fouling plugs. do you know what the jetting is on it right now? im assuming its prolly using a keihin carb somewhere around 30mm size. get the jetting then we can prolly help u out... Quote
LegendSS28 Posted April 3, 2005 Author Report Posted April 3, 2005 ok ..it is jetted as it came from stock and according to the manual that is: Air Screw Opening - 1-3/4 turns out Slow Jet - #30 Jet needle - 6DGY21-69 Main Needle clip position - 3rd groove Main jet - #430 Float Level - 0.29 in (7.5mm) Quote
SICK BOY Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 Do you have a pic of the plug you could post?I'd like to see it,because I think it's running rich like Loco was saying. Quote
LegendSS28 Posted April 3, 2005 Author Report Posted April 3, 2005 i could get you a pic of the plug after a try and kick it over, but it wont start so i cannot get it after it is running WOT...also, I do not know how to do a plug chop, would a regular pic of the plug work? Quote

Quote
LegendSS28 Posted April 3, 2005 Author Report Posted April 3, 2005 yes its a mikuini....the bike is all stock, although my v force 3's r on the way and i plan on getting a pipe...but for now, its stock...i will snap a pic now and post it in a few mins...thanks for your help Quote
LegendSS28 Posted April 3, 2005 Author Report Posted April 3, 2005 ok i need to charge the battery for the digi, but i can tell u exactly what the tip of the plug looks like...it has black liquidy residue on it(appears to be carbon or oil type of substance) and thats pretty much it...it is pretty wet, which i dont think is a good thing....this means that the jetting is rich, correct? Quote
Brian060 Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 does the black residue smell like oil? Quote
