Go somewhere that specializes in compressors. I'd also buy something over 30 gallons if you plan to use your impact guns Quote
racer Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 i have a small portercable i got from lowes. nothing fancy. 6hp with a 26 gallon tank i think. i usually just run an air drill or a 1/2 drive impact with it. but when i run my tools its not a constant usage so that small of a compressor suits my needs. id like to have a bigger one remote plumbed into my attic, but its not a high priority. good luck with yer purchasin. XxMeltIcexX Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 craftsman is the way to go, we have three of them, a HUGE one, and Medium one, and a tiny one. Eric Quote
Guest nightmare Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 I have the craftsman profesional. I think it's 30 gallon. Works great. Just get a compressor that has a dual stage motor if you are going to use air tools they recover quicker. Quote
fastbanshee4u Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 [ what ever brand you buy do not get a oiless compressor. anything that makes friction needs lubricant, especally if you want long life. Ingersoll-rand emglo home depot lowes craftsman Quote
blk02banshee Posted April 3, 2005 Report Posted April 3, 2005 I had a craftsman 5hp gas, 20 gallon and it kept up with all my air tools. I wish I would have kept it. Quote
MILO Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 (edited) Craftsman - 150psi - 30 gal -5hp - 6 star rating - works great for my garage! keeps up with air tools just fine, mostly my 1/2" impact. oil free model, without any problems. Craftsman's insurance deal is bring it in for an inspection once a year and they'll replace anything damaged free of charge. Edited April 5, 2005 by MILO Quote
