whiteboarder Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 is it possible to fix a stator i have an aftermarket stator and it is no longer producing spark the timing plate came loose and the stator rubbed a little on the flywheel. do you think its fixable or should i just replace it. Quote

willnegus Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 I have fixed several but not fun. you may be better off to call ricky stator. did you rewind your own stator, i just finished rewinding mine it took 9 hours, not sure if it worked because it still wont start, the reason i rewound it is because i broke the original windings, so i reound it myself, is it even possible for it to work Quote

If you call Ricky Stator & get their ship to address, they will test it, fix it or replace it if need be for a fair price. I have sent parts there & they did not try to sell me replacement pats that were not needed. They are honest. That's my story & I'm sticking to it. Quote

If you can pinpoint the leakage area where the laquer coating is rubbed off the wiring, you can use liquid polyurethane to coat the wiring and repair the damage. This can often be done instead of rewinding the stator. If rewinding is needed, I recommend sending it in as it can take some time if not experienced with it. Brandon Quote
