compose2 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 i just installed a dyna fs ignition on my shee. i also have an adjustable timing plate on it as well. i did turn my timing plate back to what i think is 0 degrees, but with the dyna ignition, all it does is bog out real bad at low rpms. it does this on each curve setting. i know the 0 mark should line up with the case, but what part of the case. the center of the tab, top, or bottom? with the bogging, does that sound like its advanced too far, or retarded too far? Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 (edited) i know the 0 mark should line up with the case, but what part of the case. the center of the tab, top, or bottom? 340954[/snapback] Have a look at the picture in PUSH THE THROTTLE's post under the tittle "Flywheel Puller". You'll see the reference point for the TDC mark on the casing. .... I'm looking forward to getting my DynaFS aswell. .... Have you definitely got the correct model number for your year of bike? ... There are 3 models. You must also run resistor type plugs. Rare. Edited March 18, 2005 by rare_scottish_tree_badger Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Here's a pic Led posted, it's more to the point than mine. There are three model #'s but the only differences that I know of are the plug ins they should all operate the same. Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Nice one 'PUSH ...' Yip, that's the pic to use. Rare. Quote
compose2 Posted March 18, 2005 Author Report Posted March 18, 2005 yes i do use resistor plugs. i saw the split in the case like the picture showed. do i put the 0 of the timing plate in the center of that split? the split is wide enough for a 3 degree difference. if all else fails, i'll just adjust the timing plate a couple degrees and see what the difference is Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 The split should be a line where your cases seal against each other. It should be very easy to set to zero. Quote
itsjustagreat1 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 When I put my dyna on, we left the timing at +4 on the plate. It made more power that way, and we also programed more curves in. You also need to check your jetting, the dyna usually leans your motor out. Even a little on the stock setting, which by the way puts out more power than a stock cdi. I am happy with my dyna! Quote
