Sick Twin Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 i just got this banshee off a buddy and he had a shaved head stock bore fmf fatties i believe it has a 240 main jet in it.. and it ran great in all ranges i had it bored 0.20 over and used the vito pistons put the stock head back on it.mixture is at 32:1 (just for the break in) but it is popping like crazy from 0 to 1/4 throttle i take it past that runs great. plugs are black and pretty wet. i have been trying to read all the info but can be confusing for sure it sounds to me like im haveing a issue with the pilot jet . i could really use some help not even 100% sure it is the jetting.. fun_on_the_sand Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 When you have it choked, it still popps from 0 to 1/4? does it still do that when is warm? Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 mixture is at 32:1 (just for the break in) What was your mixture before? ... Could be an issue. Rare. Quote

The 32:1 oil ratio will make your crank last longer. What Vitos pistons did you get Stock replacements, power pistons, or super stock pistons.Did you install new plugs and head gasket? Quote
sredish Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 Well, we all know popping is caused from lean condition. Even though it's running good, I still wanna say your main could be lean, even though your having a prob at idle to 1/4. What pilot is in it, and what clip is the needle in, and also what's your elevation and location? How do you check the plugs, sitting there idling after a ride or during a WOT in 5th / 6th gear run?
