This is way off topic but is it possible to respoke a rim myself? Does anyone know of a website that has a tutorial or tips on how to do this? I have never done it before and am not sure if the spokes need to be torqued or even how tight they need to be. I feel confident I can get the rim "true" but you can have a true rim with loose spokes and you can have it true with overtightenned spokes. Reason I am doing this is because the outer rim on my cr250 is a purple anodized rim by excel and I want to replace it with a polished or chrome outer rim. Thanks again

Yes, you can do it yourself. I used to build race wheels at a bike shop. You first have to figure out if you wsnt a three cross, four cross(my favorite), twist, or so on. Then you really need a trueing stand, spoke wrench, tention meter, and some serious patience. I used to be able to lace wheels while sitting on the bus, so it's really not that hard.

What do you mean by 3 or 4 cross? do I need diferent spokes for the diferent configurations? and what is a tention meter? Thanks again

3 and 4 cross are how many times the spokes cross over each other, f being the strongest, but hard to do and it may be hard to find the lentgh spoke needed. The meter is to test to make sure the spokess have the smae tension all the way around, very important or you WILL have weak spots.
