bigboybanshee Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 I want to see what your plugs look like after you riding without your silencers on.... Seriously though man, just buy you a set of aftermarket pipes and ditch the stock expansion chambers...I honestly think you're doing more damage than good by running it that way, and you'll get a similar effect if you would just get some pipes that were designed to flow better rather than butchering the stock ones. sredish Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Getting rid of the silencers off your stock pipes won't do sh*t. The silencers don't provide much, if any, back pressure. The power is made in your pipes/expansion chambers, so unless you change them, your just pissing in the wind. All your going to accomplish by removing the silencers is making it sound like crap. Get some real pipes and leave the ones you have alone. You can remove the airbox lid for a little bit of help. Later. Quote

Ducman Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Your kind of in the experimental range hacking off your silencers as far as jetting. It wouldn't hurt to go up a couple sizes, go up about 3 sizes if you remove the air box lid. Dont remove the airbox lid while using the stock filter, the airbox lid holds the filter in place. Some people have screwed it to the front of the airbox so they could run lid off with the stock filter. I would recommend running an aftermarket filter and adapter plate in the stock airbox to run with the lid off. Quote
